After JEE Main, it is now the turn of the Joint Admission Test. This examination is being conducted by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) for admission in various masters courses in the top institutes of the country. IISc has released the complete schedule of examination and application for JAM 2021. The process of application has also started on jam.iisc.ac.in.
What do you want
IISc has stated that there is no age obligation to appear in this examination. Any citizen of the country doing graduation in the concerned faculty can apply for it. The score of this exam is valid for one year. That is, the candidates appearing for this time examination can take admission in the academic session 2021-22.
What is JAM?
The Joint Admission Test (JAM) is a merit test to get admission in various masters courses in the top institutes of the country including IIT, IIT, NIT, IISc, IISER, BHU. Apart from masters, admission is also available in programs like Integrated PhD in these institutes based on the score of this test.

IISc Bangalore is the Organizing Institute for JAM 2021.

JAM 2021 Examination will be conducted ONLINE only as a Computer Based Test (CBT) for all Test Papers.
- JAM 2021 will have seven Test Papers, namely, (i) Biotechnology (BT), (ii) Chemistry (CY), (iii) Economics (EN), (iv) Geology (GG), (v) Mathematics (MA), (vi) Mathematical Sciences (MS) and (vii) Physics (PH).
Economics (EN) paper is added newly this year.
- All the seven Test Papers of JAM 2021 will be of entirely objective type, with three different patterns of questions, namely (i) Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), (ii) Multiple Select Questions (MSQ), and (iii) Numerical Answer Type (NAT) questions.
- Applications will be accepted ONLINE only through JAM 2021 website.
- No hardcopies of documents are to be sent to the Organizing Institute. The applicable documents are to be uploaded online to the application website only.
